CPS/ NPS Subscribers have to update PAN number in PRAN ACCOUNT

As per the amendments made under Prevention of Money-Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2019, PAN or Form 60 is mandatory under NPS. Accordingly, All CPS Subscribers have to update PAN or Form 60 (for the current Financial Year) in their NPS/CPS account. Detailed step by step guide on How to update PAN or Form 60 or Offline Method for Updating PAN / Form 60 in CPS NPS PRAN ACCOUNT is given below.

CPS/ NPS Subscribers have to update PAN number in PRAN ACCOUNT
There are three methods of updating the PAN Number in CPS-PRAN Account. 1. Online by accessing CRA Website and updating. 2. Updating Form 60 in PRAN account and 3. Offline Mode.
Update PAN or Form 60 in your PRAN either through Online Mode (instantly in a paperless manner by accessing CRA system) or through Offline Mode (by submission of physical request to Nodal Office/POP). Steps for both the alternatives are mentioned below:

A. Online by accessing CRA Website
I. Steps for updation of PAN:
  1. Login to CRA website (www.cra-nsdl.com) using login credentials (PRAN as User ID & Password).
  2. Click on ‘Update Personal Details’ under ‘Demographic changes’ menu and select ‘Add/ Update Permanent Account Number (PAN)/Form-60’.
  3. Select ‘Permanent Account Number (PAN)’ under ‘Add/ Update PAN/Form-60’ option.
  4. Enter PAN and click ‘Generate OTP’. OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number.
  5. Enter the OTP and submit the details. On submission of correct OTP, the details registered under NPS will get authenticated with details available with Income Tax Department (ITD).
  6. On successful authentication, PAN will get updated/seeded under NPS.
II. Steps for updation of Form 60:
In case, you do not have PAN, you need to update Form 60 (for the current Financial Year) by following below mentioned steps:
  1. Login to CRA website (www.cra-nsdl.com) using login credentials (PRAN as User ID & Password).
  2. Click on ‘Update Personal Details’ under ‘Demographic changes’ menu and select ‘Add/ Update Permanent Account Number (PAN)/Form-60’.
  3. Select ‘Form-60’ under ‘Add/ Update PAN/Form-60’ option.
  4. Upload Form-60 documents as per requirement provided in “Notes Section” and click on ‘Generate OTP’ button. OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number.
  5. Enter the OTP and submit the details. On submission of correct OTP, Form 60 will be updated in the CRA.
B. Physical request to Nodal Office/POP (Offline)
Submit physical request (i.e. ‘Annexure – S2’ Form, mentioning PAN details) to your associated Nodal Office/Point of Presence (POP). Annexure S2 can be downloaded from the ‘Forms section’ of CRA website (www.npscra.nsdl.co.in). On receipt of physical request, the Nodal Office/POP will update PAN in the CRA system.
